Langkawi Travel Information

Best Time to Visit: In general, dry season from November to March is the best time to visit Langkawi. You should avoid rainy season from September to October because outdoor activities might not be available due to the heavy rainfall caused by monsoon winds. It is also advised to plan your outdoor activities in the morning as it is less likely to rain when compared to evening.

Getting Around in Langkawi: There’s no public bus service in Langkawi, however getting around by a metered taxi is actually quite affordable in this small island. You can also choose to rent a car at the rate starting from RM120 per day if you find it more convenient while travelling in a bigger group. Otherwise, you can just rent a motorcycle which is a relatively cheaper option for one or two people at the rate starting from RM30 per day.

Where to Stay: Pantai Cenang is the busiest area in Langkawi packed with tourists, but is the best place to get immediate access to beautiful beaches, water sports and nightlife. If you wish to enjoy a bit more quiet time, you can opt for Pantai Tengah which is only 5 minutes drive from Pantai Cenang. For a more luxury stay experience, there are plenty of 4 to 5 star hotels near Pantai Kok. To stay far away from crowds, the north coast area like Tanjung Rhu is your best choice.

Day 1: Arrival – Underwater World Langkawi – Pantai Cenang
